DEFINITION
The iodine value is a measure of the unsaturation of the alkyl group or groups and is expressed in terms of cg of iodine absorbed per g of test sample (% iodine absorbed).

SCOPE
Applicable to fatty quaternary ammonium chlorides. Replaces Nc 4-62.
